About this scholarship

This accommodation scholarship supports high-achieving students undertaking undergraduate studies at ACU.

Value

  • This scholarship provides a 20% reduction in accommodation fees, paid towards a two-semester or 12-month rental agreement in the property and room type of your choice. 
    • At Ballarat Campus, there are 5 scholarships available. The award is paid towards a two-semester or 12-month rental agreement in the property and room type of your choice. 
    • At Canberra Campus, there are 5 scholarships available. The award is paid towards the fees of a standard studio room on a 12-month agreement. 
    • For any Sydney-based campus, there are a total of 10 scholarships available. The award is paid towards a 12-month agreement in a National Rental Affordability Scheme (NRAS) studio or premium studio, or multi-share apartment.
  • There are up to 20 scholarships available.

Eligibility

This scholarship is open to applicants who meet all of the following criteria:

  • Commencing ACU course in Semester 1, 2023 or prior 
  • Citizenship: domestic
  • Course: any ACU undergraduate degree 
  • Campus: Canberra, North Sydney, Strathfield, Blacktown or Ballarat (on campus mode)
  • Minimum ATAR of 85 or minimum GPA of 5 on the seven-point scale.  


Application process

Applicants will be required to provide the following as part of the application:

  • Evidence of academic merit from your most recent studies
    • ATAR or equivalent; or 
    • academic transcript (including GPA) 
  • (if relevant) Evidence of your regional, rural or remote address. 

 

Selection criteria

Applications are assessed based on the strength of the following criteria:

  • Academic merit
  • Preference will be given to applicants who have relocated from a regional, rural or remote location.

 

Selection process

The recipients will be selected by the ACU Scholarships Office 

 

Ongoing requirements

To remain eligible for this scholarship, recipients are required to maintain the following: 

  • Minimum pass grade for all units in which they were enrolled in the previous study period.
  • Minimum GPA of 4 (on the ACU seven-point scale) each semester
  • Enrolment at the Canberra, North Sydney, Strathfield, Blacktown or Ballarat campus
