Established as an ACT Government initiative, these placement support grants provide financial assistance to domestic students in nursing or allied health courses, undertaking compulsory clinical placements.

Eligibility
This grant is open to applicants who meet all the following criteria:
- Citizenship: domestic
- Campus: Canberra (on campus)
- Are currently enrolled in and will be undertaking a placement in Semester 1 2025.
- Faculty: Health Science
- Course: enrolled in one of the following in Semester 1, 2025:
- Bachelor of Nursing
- Bachelor of Nursing (Enrolled Nurses)
- Bachelor of Nursing/Bachelor of Paramedicine
- Bachelor of Occupational Therapy
- Bachelor of Speech Pathology
- Bachelor of Social Work
- Master of Social Work (Qualifying)
- Meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students
- From a low socio-economic background
- From a regional, rural, or remote location
- Financial need or hardship
- Academic merit
Application process
Depending on which criteria applicants are applying for, applicants will be required to provide one or more of the following:
- A written statement* of approximately 200 words outlining:
- The financial challenges you foresee of undertaking placement.
- How this payment can contribute toward these challenges.
- Details of placement location and duration.
- Evidence to support financial need, hardships or barriers as outlined in your written statement (evidence may include but is not limited to paying for accommodation, supporting dependents, travel etc.)
- Upload Confirmation of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander status (for more information on this requirement, please visit, COA)
- Evidence of your regional, rural, or remote address.

Selection process
Applicants will be shortlisted by the Scholarships Office, and the recipients will be determined by a selection committee. The committee will be composed of representatives from the Faculty of Health Sciences.
