About this scholarship
Established in 2014 by the senior students of St Joseph’s College, Gregory Terrace, to support students undertaking undergraduate studies at the Australian Catholic University, Brisbane campus, this scholarship has been created to develop a better world for all with a commitment to the common good. St Joseph’s College, Gregory Terrace Student Leadership Scholarship aims to improve participation in higher education by students who have encountered physical, social or financial barriers to education.

Eligibility
This scholarship is open to applicants who meet all of the following criteria:
- Commencing a new ACU course in Semester 1, 2025
- Citizenship: domestic
- Course: any ACU undergraduate degree
- Campus: Brisbane
Application process
Applicants are required to provide the following as part of the application:
- A written statement* of approximately 250 words outlining:
- how your intended program of study will potentially benefit your personal and professional ambitions.
- how this scholarship could financially support you in your studies
- Evidence of your contribution to and/or leadership in community service
- One letter of recommendation (must include the title and/or position and contact details of the referee).
*Statements are assessed on content, not language skills. If you access assistance from advisors, tutors or AI technology to complete your personal statement, please ensure that your submission accurately reflects your personal situation with regards to the criteria.
Selection criteria
Applications are assessed based on the strength of the following criteria:
- Written statement
- Letter of recommendation
- Evidence of contribution to community service
Selection process
The recipient will be selected by the Scholarships Office.
Ongoing requirements
To remain eligible for this scholarship, recipients are required to maintain the following each semester for the duration of the scholarship:
- minimum Pass grade for all enrolled units.
- active enrolment
Other
Recipients will be requested to submit an Impact Statement for the donor, explaining how the Scholarship has assisted them. The letter should be submitted to the Scholarships Office no later than 1 October of each year.
