Initiated in 2012, the Thomas More Law School Academic Excellence Scholarship reflects ACU's commitment to academic excellence in the School’s undergraduate programs in Law, and Criminology and Criminal Justice.

- Each scholarship is valued at up to $10,000, to be paid in instalments each semester:
- For students in a five-year course: $1,250.
- For students in a four-year course: first payment of $2,500 and subsequent payments of $1,500.

Eligibility
This scholarship is open to applicants who meet all of the following criteria:
- Faculty and School: Thomas More Law School, Faculty of Law and Business
- Course: any ACU Law and/or Criminology and Criminal Justice undergraduate degree
- Study load: enrolment in Semester 1, 2025
- Must have completed one year of full-time study in the Thomas More Law School
- Students are only eligible to receive this Scholarship once during their studies at ACU.
Application process
Applicants will be required to provide the following as part of the application:
- A written statement* of approximately 500 words, outlining why you want to undertake an ACU Law and/or Criminology and Criminal Justice degree.
- Two letters of recommendation (one academic and one personal)
- Interview (shortlisted applicants only)

Selection criteria
Applications are assessed based on the strength of the following criteria:
- Academic merit (based on ACU GPA)
- Written statement
- Letters of recommendation
- Interview
Selection process
Shortlisted applicants will be required to attend an interview with a selection committee appointed by the Dean of the Thomas More Law School.
Ongoing requirements
To remain eligible for scholarship payments, recipients are required to maintain the following each semester for the duration of the scholarship:
- Minimum GPA of 5.5 (on the ACU seven-point scale)
- Minimum Pass grade for all units in which they were enrolled in the previous study period
- Full-time study load
- Enrolment in the same course under which the scholarship was awarded.
